Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a nonprofit, international, community-based organisation for recovering addicts active in over sixty countries. Anyone who wants to stop using drugs may become a member of Narcotics Anonymous. Membership is not limited to addicts using any particular drug. Those who feel they may have a problem with drugs, legal or illegal, including alcohol, are welcome in NA. Recovery in NA focuses on the problem of addiction, not on any particular drug.

Sydney West Area Health Service is the NSW Health Service for areas between Auburn through to Lithgow, including some northern and southern suburbs. The services are divided into 'clusters'. The 'Western Cluster' covers people living in Penrith, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury areas. Nepean Hospital has a drug and alcohol unit, and drug and alcohol counselling is available through local community health centres.
