Hopscotch Project:

Hopscotch is a partnership between WESDARC, SWAHS and Kingswood Public School. The Project is centred within a resilience model and aims to increase the capacity of teachers and the broader school community, to support the physical, emotional and educational of those school children, (including but not exclusively) who live in homes where their well being is impacted by issues resulting from parental alcohol and other drug misuse. Hopscotch is a twelve month project that is being developed and delivered in accordance with the guidelines established in the Families First initiatives and will fit within those strategies identified for working with vulnerable families. Our goals are to enhance the capacity of the participating school, to deliver innovative and practical strength based resources aimed at fostering a supportive environment for children and to support teachers who are working to build resilience of children from kindergarten to year 6 in areas with a prevalence of families who need extra support.
