Why Drug & Alcohol Clip Art?
Western Sydney Drug & Alcohol Resource Centre Inc. (WESDARC) is creating a resource of drug and alcohol clip art. We’re looking for images created by local young people to add to the resource, which will go on to be used by community and youth workers.
About the competition:
All you have to do is design an image that fits into our theme – and you have an entry! The competition is open to young people (12-25 years) who live, study, work or otherwise hang-out in the Penrith, Blue Mountains or Hawkesbury local government areas.
About the judging:
The competition will be judged in the following categories:
1. Judges’ Choice
2. Young People’s Choice
Images and graphics will be chosen on their ability to communicate a positive health promotion message about alcohol and other drugs (or related issues) and ‘appeal’ value. To ensure your message is clear and suits the intended purpose of the resource, use the information in this pack.
Which drugs is this competition about?
The world Health organisation defines a drug a a chemical substance that alters the way you body and mind normally works - whether legal or illegal. This means that we're talking about ALL of the following:
· illegal drugs (eg. marijuana, ecstasy, heroin etc.)
· legal like tobacco and alcohol
· caffeine (such as in coffee and energy drinks)
· prescribed medications (eg. asthma medications through to anti-depressants, heart medication etc.)
· over-the-counter drugs (like aspirin and panadol)
